Guy's I write as One who has been there, Done that. When I purchased N99008
I was told many things and many ways. I could not locate the Data Plate, I asked
many people and received as many answers as to the location of the data plate.
>From the firewall to the dash to the overhead cowling. After tearing the plane
apart my greatest fears came true, there was not a data plate on the plane. The
panic was at Max power now. Every one said don't mention it a let a sleeping dog
lie. I never did listen to good, I guess. I had visions of having to junk my
bird or sell it off for parts. Scared silly I called Univair told the
man what I had got myself into. He told me to get a letter from the FAA
with their letter head on it and stating their OK to issue a new Data plate. I
called the FAA Talked to the Records Man He wanted the serial no of the air
frame and the registration no# model &ect. He sent an approval to Me &
to univair. About 2 weeks later I had my new Data plate . Witch will
be installed in the middle of my new Skyport oversize instrument panel . It
can be done. Al Tanzey N99008
