Checking continuity across the meter with
an ohmmeter should have banged it's needle to the stop since the meter is a
sensitive movement which is powered only by the current generated by a
thermocouple. If the meter actually moves, the problem is elsewhere.
You can remove the theromocouple and connect it to the meter with clip
leads and rule out any connection or wireing problems. After connecting
the two, put a blow torch flame on the thermocouple till it starts to glow a
little. If the meter moves, the problem is probably a wireing issue.
If not, thermocouples go bad. Pretty harsh environment. Bigger blow
torch.

I checked continuity across the instrument and across the thermocouple. I have continuity on both. Is there anyone out there can tell me another way to check the EGT system.EdN3396H from Oregon.============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers-tech/
