I have a similar problem with the registration and airworthiness. The aircraft I put a down payment on has a registration and airworthiness that says its a 415C with a C 85 series engine, so I ordered the background CD and it states that a conversion was made in 1982 to a D and included a 0200 engine, however the records were never updated with the FAA so the FAA lists it as a 415C. Current owner states he understands its a 415 C/D which I know is not really a model (could be a 415 CD), but the registration and airworthiness do not show the update to a D. Does the FAA or others go by registration and airworthiness listed in the airplane and in the FAA records or would they check further, back to 1982?

Any comments would help!!!!!

Thanks
Bob
