Been checking on replacing my main fuel valve (from nose tank) and called Univair. They said they don't have one, aren't going to have one, and don't know any for use on Ercoupes (!) I asked about using a replacement J-3 valve that Spruce has in their catalog, that seems to be new design with up to date materials. The guy at Univair said that that was their valve, but they machine it to only partially open, so it is only good for 65 horse engines. John Cooper at Skyport said that was one of the strangest stories he'd ever heard. Me too! I have the Kohler valve, and it is 1/4". This J-3 valve is also 1/4". I'm trying to get something to work easier than the plug-type valve I have so I can put in a remote shut off. Anybody ever seen this new J-3 valve in person?
