Update on my battery replacement. I contacted Unavair and was told there is no current battery approved for the 66 Alon and I assume any other coupe that was certified with the Exide AC54 manifold battery.or the Gill G25M which is now in my plane. I contacted Concorde and they said there RG25xc sealed battery is a direct replacement for both these batteries but is not approved specifically for the ercoupes. They also stated that I would most likely need an FAA field approval to install the Concorde battery in a coupe. I then called the Baltimore FSDO office and was told the only thing that was require was a log book entry indicating the change and any weight difference The Exude battery wt 25# , the Gill G25M 22# and the Concorde RG25xc 23.5# There is no w/b moment change required at this weight differance . My equip W/B list allows up to 25# for the battery
Hope this helps anyone that runs into the same problem
