Dan: I suggest you check the valve in the line from the main tanks and make certain that it is on. It is either on the floor by the passengers seat, or forward on the side panel.
If the valve is on, I suggest removing the top of the fuel pump (how long has it been since the annual inspection) and checking the screen and pump area for corrosion/water.
If nothing is found there, check the inlet line (this should be the line hooked to the rear of the pump) to make sure fuel comes out of it.
If this is OK, then you will most likely have to remove the pump. I heard of a pump breaking off one side of the pin that the pump lever rides on. (this is the lever that rides on the camshaft and makes the pump work) If this is broken, the lever moves too far sideways and the pump does not pump fuel. You will probably find that the broken piece is inside the engine and will have to be removed. If so, try to fish it out with a magnet, and if you are lucky enough to get it out, look it over with a magnifying glass to make certain that there are no marks on it. Worst case, if it is broken and has marks or you cannot find it, you will have to tear down the engine.
