Both systems however rely on the power of your master cylinder.

The Ercoupe master cylinder (Scott) was speced for the original Goodrich expander tube brakes. The requirement was high volume, low pressure. The original cylinder still works satisfactorily with the Goodyear brakes, but when matched with the Clevelands, cannot muster enough pressure to do the job.

Skyport has an STC to install a custom manufactured Matco master cylinder, which works with the Goodyears and Clevelands but cannot move the volume required by the Goodrich brakes. An off-the-shelf Matco from Aircraft Spruce will not fit the application as it is too long overall, nor would it be legal without a field approval..
