I don't know how to respond to these emails so that everyone has access to my reply.

Jack,

To respond to the list, use whichever of these two addresses is appropriate:

Ctech ([email protected])

Cflyin ([email protected])

Please, only reply or send messages to only one list.  Everyone should be a member of TECH so a message to TECH should get to everyone – BUT, TECH is only for on-topic discussions like Ercoupes, Aircoupes, flying, aviation technique – well, anything related to aviation or Coupes.

FLYIN is more open, including subjects we might discuss at a flyin, but some people only want on-topic discussions so they don’t join FLYIN.

The list server is set to make the reply-to address the address of the individual sender.  This keeps all the little ‘thank you’ and ‘me too’ comments private and not shared (and wasting the time of) hundreds of people.

But if you are starting or continuing a discussion that might be of interest or use to others (like this reply), then it’s appropriate to send it to the list.  If it’s important to the individual who asks, I send it to the individual and the list to be sure the individual gets the response even if the listserver glitches.

Also, it’s helpful and polite to cut and paste the words to which you are replying and delete everything else from the original message.

So, please add those two e-mail addresses above into your address book so they’ll be easy to use.
