Wow...tanksbunches.  Since I am not fully suicidal yet, I have attempted the
procedure with the engine not running. Your comments have helped
tremendously since I was obviously working from the opposite wrong
assumption.

Might there be a particular  RPM range that 's best when attempting the
adjustment.  I am familiar with the throttle stop assembly adjustment itself
in addition to the mixture valve assembly screw.
