Eliacim.
I think you need to have two indicators. One for the interconnected main
tanks and one for the header tank. The wing tanks count as one due to the
interconnection and the header is the other tank you have.
Your wing tanks should have an indicator somehow. Depending on serial number
or later changes it is either on the left tank or the right one. It can be a
round could gauge on the left tank protruding into the fuselage on the left
side or the earlier style tube on the right side of the cabin.
There are also some coupes that just have a float and wire on the left main
tank.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Fuel tank indicators. One enough?

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any

Another question. Bear with me.

VFR equipment requirements specify one fuel qty indicator for each tank (or
some similar language). Now, my 415C only has a fuel qty indicator (wire and

cork) in the main tank, not in the wing tanks. I think this should meet the
requirements because the way the fuel system works.

My concern is that I am preparing for my checkride and I don't want the
examiner to reject the plane because it does not have a fuel qty indicator
on
each tank.

1. How do you people have your planes? Just an indicator on the main tank,
or
indicators on the 3 tanks?

2. Is my interpretation correct that having a single indicator in the main
tank meets the purpose of the regulation?

3. Has anybody been on a checkride with a single tank indicator? Did the FAA

examiner ever complain or comment about it?

 Thanks
