You may not need a TSO, but for sure you will need a Field Approval in order to put it in a certificated aircraft.

Hmmmmm.... now that you mention it, Joe Norris (EAA) doesn't seem to mention this aspect. The shop that installed my French horn sized venturi just logged it, signed it and didn't bother with a 337. I did accuse them of being sloppy. Do I need to get worried? I've heard from time to time that in a 59 year old airplane discrepancies tend to get lost in the noise of the ages.
