I head that wooden props can perform as well as metal props. Or at least similar to. The trick is that wooden props are suing a different pitch though. Might have been that your fellow had a prop on his coupe that was a cruise prop. How was his cruising performance and what type engine did he fly? If he had a C-75 and you guys where using the O-200 conversion , that would be a bit unfair to compare...
