I am deaconofnoise, the very same who won that e bay auction!!!

Now for the big question. Would it be legal to take the generator and those parts, and have a good 'old generator shop repair it? I kind of read (I did not get the complete message) a partial thread answer saying that an AP can have the generator refurbished by any shop as long as the parts are legal. Did I get that right?

This is what you'd need for a rebuild.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4596383556&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

But any generator shop will have the parts too and does it for less. I paid ones $100 for my alternator in my Jaguar. They took it out of the car, which is a pain in the butt, fixed the alternator, bench checked it and put back in for 100 bucks.
It would be less if you provide the part already.

Good luck man, whatever you decide to do.

I have been tracking and isolating my electrical problems, previously discussed in this forum.

Would anybody be willing to part with a WORKING Delco Remy 1101876 generator, (perhaps leftover from an alternator conversion)?
If so, please contact me off the forum, at
