Ron,
Beautiful local scenery and beautiful landing strip ! You have every right
to be grateful and proud. Should you ever consider relocating to Florida -
perhaps Fort Lauderdale or Miami, be prepared for doubleyour months of
flying, a 40 degree F. rise in year round temperature, AND a ten times
increase in hangar fees (assuming youwould rent, not own - which is an
impossibility in most cases). With all you have "up there", it seems
peculiar that so many Canadians end up down here in Forida each year - and,
they all seemto be all in front of me on the highways, talking to friends
and relatives in Alberta on their cell phones!

I keep my airplanes on a farm in a steel open hangar protected from the wind
and weather by a forest of trees. The cost is ZERO. Been that way for
years. I like that arrangement very much. We help each other.

I'd LOVE to find a hangar condo in SoCal within commuting distance of work.
I'd be there in a heartbeat with the Ercoupe and begin building an RV.
The closest airport is John Wayne (SNA). I moved out of SNA about 3 years
ago when the ties downs went up to $140 per month, and also due to the
effects of ocean air a few miles away (bad thing). At SNA there was a 10
to 20 year wait for hangars that started at $600 per month. Now I'm out at
Chino not far from the Planes of Fame Air Museum - it's a good airplane
friendly 'neighborhood'! :-).
