Hi Hartmut,
the evidence is far from anecdotal. It is factual- the FAA inspector from Fresno saw it with his own 2 eyes, touched it with his hands. I do not pretend to have all the facts of this- but it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility that corrosion forms on the inside faces of 2 sheets of aluminum, and remains hidden from view from the outside.
