Subject: Re: [COUPERS-TECH] Loss of power after takeoff

Hi Ron,
Steve Austin was flying an Alon. The Alon fuel system, unlike that of the Ercoupe, places the gascolator on the firewall below the level of the carburetor. There appears to be a relationship between this difference in design and owners experiencing in-flight power loss.
In what aircraft did you experience the "similar problem" and what fuel were you running?
Regards,
WRB

A while back steve Austin had a posting of loss of power after takeoff. I was wondering if he found the problem as I have a similar problem. At about 300 ft after takeoff engine got extremely rough completed circuit and landed Engine quit running on roll out. Gave it a shot of prime and it started back up and ran fine on the ground. Any thoughts Thanks/smaller>/fontfamily>
