I make it a practice that whenever a parameter is out of speck by a gauge reading (tack, temp, pressure etc) the first thing I check is the GAUGE, usually against another more accurate instrument (digital tach, laser guided thermometer, calibrated pressure gauge)

I checked the electronic tach first against a known rpm to verify it was correct then checked the tach in the plane. There was only 25 rpm difference. These electronic tachs are available at hobby shops and they are cheap. You could also offer a modeler a ride in your plane and ask him to bring his tach.Bill StevickBill,25 RPM isn't much, but it could put the static out of limits atannual time - not good if it is checked.John============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
