If changing to a model 415-D is what you want for increased
gross weight, then you can look at Aircraft Specification A-787, the TCDS for
the D and all later models, and read Note 3 near the bottom. That tells
you detail by detail what’s needed to convert from a C to a D.

Be aware that the C and CD models are
running maybe $5,000 (or more) higher in value because Sport Pilots may fly
them. And, once changed up, it may never be changed back. If there’s
any paperwork that could be found showing the change up, the a Sport Pilot or a
Private Pilot flying under privileges of Sport Pilot could receive a violation
and the insurance company could deny payment if any accident occurred.
