Question
We are installing the newer steering rod for the nose gear and the inner shaft
of the control column moves up and down (not side to side) but up and down and makes a knock noise when you rock the control wheels like your steering
if we put a .018 feeler gage between the quadrant and the control column housing then all play is gone.
Is there possibly a shim missing or just wear every thing else is tight just this up and down movement
