I am trying to upgrade the generator on my 415-C from the 13 amp to the 20 amp, which I have discussed here before. The 20 amp generator is not in the type certificate for the 415-C / CD (A???) but it is on (A-787) the TC for 415-D, E, G, etc. I know that is close enough for some A&P's to install it with just a logbook entry, but my A&P/IA insists on doing a 337. I had hoped he would just sign a log entry, but it's his signature (liability) and I respect his call. He's asking me to do some research and the big questions are: 1. Is there any documentation that shows that the wiring required on the 415- C/CD type certificate (which only lists the 13 amp generator) and the wiring required for TC A-787 (which lists the 13, 20 and 35 amp generators)is the same schematic and wire gages? 2. Regardless of the type certificate, is there any documentation that shows that wiring in a 13 amp generator installation is the same as wiring in a 20 amp generator installation (other than the voltage regulator, which has to be the right one)? I know that most probably the wiring is the same, however, what I need is DOCUMENTATION stating that it is indeed the same. All and any help would be appreciated Eliacim Cortes N87071 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. ============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
