We replaced our side windows with Lexan and they work just fine.  Lexan stratches easier but that doesn't seem to be a problem so far.  We bought it at a shop that sells plexi and other plastic material.  Enough to do both windows cost about $40.00.  Be sure to use a dull drill bit to drill the  holes and flat rivets on the frames.

I would never suggest that one not purchase approved equipment ‘but,’ one can get a 4’ x 8’ sheet of 060 Lexan from Home Depot and they will cut it into pieces for you at no extra charge.

Hey Joey: The best answer is that it all depends. Meaning if the window supports are new, then 1/8 inch soft rivets will do the job. but if the windows have been replaced a time or two, then you will probably need larger diameter rivets. I recommend getting fairly long (about 1/2 inch) rivets and then cutting them if needed to do the job. You will need longer ones to go through the window pull handles anyway.
If you are planning to do the replacement job yourself, then make sure you drill the holes in the windows at least 1/16 larger than the holes in the supports. You need to use a special type of drill bit to drill the holes in the Plexiglas and be sure to bevel both edges of the holes to ensure the window does not crack later. Be sure to go slowly with the drill so as to not put undue pressure on the Plexiglas.
A trick I have used a couple of times is to use #4 washers on the 1/8 (soft) rivets on both ends, when you are replacing the windows and using old supports that have been drilled a time or two. The washers are a fairly close fit on the rivets, so they allow the rivets to pull the supports together without spreading the rivet too much in the middle.
    Good Luck
