My 'coupe, NC2273H, is back in the air! Six long months of me tinkering on it (total engine teardown and re-install myself -- professional overhaul shop did the rebuild though). I'm sure lucky my mechanics and IA were good enough to let me do it myself, with their regular inspections and occasional supervision on critical parts. I flew it for about 1.5 hours tonight. I'll post up a video later this week on my personal website (www.ellingson.com). Thanks everyone for answering my technical questions during this process. As for the SB32 inspection, I will be doing it this summer when I put in the large baggage compartment. One note: My new SkyTec starter is very nice. Certainly smaller and lighter. It does turn the engine over a bit faster, but doesn't seem to have as much torque. Then again, the new rings and such may have increased the load and resistance.
