Guys - I had some good responses to my request for pros and cons on hooking up the mixture control on my Stromberg Carb in my Coupe. However, a knowledgeable A&P commented that there were only three holes in the mixture control - a full rich, a somewhat smaller one and the smallest one. No continuous moderation of the mixture control. Might be worth it if I planned to do a lot of flying either at altitude or in high density altitudes but not for the cost of doing it.
I finally pulled the spinner off of 93820 to see what sort of prop I have. The following info is interesting: McCauley, Max rating 85 hp 2600 rpm, type certificate 842, Design 1A90, serial # 1980, CF 7149. I am assuming that the 7149 is the diameter and pitch of the prop. What does the CF stand for? Is this a climb or cruise prop?
