All: I second the recommendation to call John at Skyport (800 624 5312) for
the carburetor air filter. The Brackett Air Filter Assembly (BA 4106) which fits
early Cessna's, Ercoupes, Aircoupes, Mooney's, and others is listed on page 275
of the Aircraft Spruce Catalogue for $38.95. The replacement element is
$6.95.
I believe the original filter was held in with a
spring clip which wasn't always easily removed. But the Bracket Assembly is held
in with three screws that go through the outside of the air housing.
