Eliacim,

The symptoms are not the same, but . . .

I had fibers from my not-a Brackett air filter come loose from the filter
and clog the small air passages inside the Stromberg carb.

My A&P took it off the plane, disassembled it, cleaned all the passages and
put it back together in somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half.

Stromberg carbs have some small air passages related to the mixture control.
These lead to the mixture control assembly which has a fixed (removable)
plate and a moving plate with many holes. This can be easily disassembled
and cleaned. I once heard it's advisable to strop the two plates together
with a stropping compound to get a smoother fit but I don't know for sure
about that.

Anyway, the point is that these air passages can get clogged without the
carb being touched.
