I've had good luck with lightspeed headsets in
all types of aircraft. I have a set of 20XL and 3G. I have had lightspeed
headsets since they first came out (price sold me). Service has been
great. Any problem has been fixed at no charge and in one case since I fly
almost daily they just sent me another pair and kept the ones being repaired for
a very minor problem. On the 3G I have had a problem after a 5 or 6 hour flight
when descending from altitude (Twin). I get a humming sound that will increase
the lower I get. After a few flights I noticed if I readjusted the headset on my
head the noise would go away. In our Forney which I fly an average of 5 day a
week, twice a day, the 20xl works fine, no problems. The 3G I
pick up the strobe. I use hearing aids when not flying. You might hear
more. My wife, has perfect hearing, says the 20XL works fine but also
hears the strobe slightly in the 3G. I do lots of pattern work,
windows open. Favorite way to fly an Aircoupe is with the headset in the
bag, radios off, windows open and a bib grin on my face!!

I found that the outside noise was too much for them and strange enough they degraded considerably when flying pattern altitude or lower.Any similar experiences? It could be that they were just borrowed and not the best...N87333Alan Fairclough============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
