It would seem to me you might have a legal case for
the excessive charges for the brake repair that was a rip off plus not working.

There were so many that stepped up to the plate and offered advice, parts, phone support, etc. Special thanks to John Cooper from Skyport Services, Lynn Nelson-Florida Ercoupe Mechanic Extrordinaire, Vernon Gregory-Ercoupe graveyard custodian, John Wright JR-Mid country Ercoupe Guru and the retired minister from Ohio-Gods personal Ercoupe driver (sorry, don't have your name handy!) Those who I forget, please forgive me. The bottom line is this...US Flight at White Plains NY charged Ed about $2400 to bleed the brakes and rebuild the master cylinder. We still did not have brakes after the work was done and they threw up their hands saying they did not know what else to do. We brought in another mechanic who opened the master cylinder and found the rubber o-ring out of the grove it is suppose to be in. He put it back in the groove, bleed the brakes and all was well....for about an hour. On our last landing, Ed felt a "pop" when he stepped on the brakes and we believe the o-ring jumped out of the groove, again. We will put it back one more time, get the plane to a shop that knows Ercoupes and switch to the Cleveland's.Thanks again for everyone's help and support.Glen Davis CFII
