I just did the same change and was able to use straight connectors. I would not mind learning what others have done (straight or 90?).

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Wiring Harness

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

My 1946 415C 85HP engine (converted from 75HP) has short plugs on the top.The plugs have round metal covers with the plug wires going into the side/top of the metal covers with a spring going in to connect with the plug. The new wiring harness we bought works fine connecting to the bottom plugs but the nuts are a different thread and will not attach to the top plug covers.

We are considering converting to the long plugs on the top and installing the required plug extensions on the cowling. If we do this, can someone please tell us if we need a wiring harness that goes straight down on the top plugs (like the new one we just bought) or would we need a harness with a 90 degree turn right after the plug connection on the top plugs. Thanks. Dennis Hatfield (N2738H).
