Jason,

Same here.  This last weekend I took the belly skin off my Ercoupe.  Just in front and at the center of my rear spar, in an area that can only be scene with the belly skin off, I found a 1946 penny.

Took the wings off my 'coupe this week to complete the annual (both the
mechanics and I wanted it extra thorough as it is my first one).

We inspected every single square inch inside the wings, fuselage, and
walkway boxes using mirrors and tiny flashlights.

Guess what was found inside one of the walkway boxes?

A 1945 Denver minted penny!

I wonder if it was placed there when first assembled, or if someone who
had owned it prior had placed it there... for good luck?

I'm thinking about putting it back in (secured of course) when it is
reassembled.
