Hi All...

We own a '46 Coupe with the Forniar duel nose fork and tire.

Our NLG has the snubber cable. I recently measured the difference between having the cable on and having it off. Length of travel with the cable on was approx 7 inches as compared to approx 11 inches with it off.

The most significant difference I noted from the inspection, was with the snubber cable on, the dampening action of the NLG piston was restricted.  to about half of that compared to without having the cable on.

Without having the snubber cable on, my largest concern was re-learning the flair height during landing so that I wouldn't hit the NLG first.

I think we will progressively lengthen the snubber cable, for training purposes, up to the point where it won't be required. This way we can restore the full dampening action of the NLG and maintain the look Fred had designed into the Coupe.

Any Thoughts?

Cheers
