I was hoping to ask for the lists experiance once again. I had a very experienced engineer/technician design and machine a device that lets me operate the throttle, as my fingers have no grip. I cannot push the button and pull the throttle back with one hand, so we copied a device used by a great many disabled pilots. In fact, the design came right out of a C-177.

To install it, we need to remove the black bakelite knob from cable and attach our device. We have been unable to easily remove the knob (and I do not want to force or break anything). The phillips screw just spins. And the threads on side of outer knob appear to be stripped. Is there a trick I'm missing? This should be a simple bolt on process, or we would not have messed with it.

The parts manual only shows an "assembly" and service manuals are silent on anything to do with this assembly.
