What a great idea! Anyone know where the book is?

Syd. We need to think of ways to make things work, rather than call out past failures as why things won't work.

Had a pretty good discussion with one of the Swift guys about the parts business this morning. Things are getting tough for them not having production of any more airplanes. When I say tough, I mean slow and getting expensive!

Jim, a few years back someone came up with the idea of dedicating a special log book that would be passed on from Ercouper to Ercouper and flown all around the country. Each Ercouper would fly it to the next Ercouper, sign the describe the flight and sign the log. As I remember, it started in California and worked it's way east. after a month or so, it disappeared. If we couldn't even do that, do you really think each of us would come up with a bunch of money to buy the Type Certificate from Univair? Then come up with more money to buy a warehouse and a factory? Then come up with more money to hire and pay management and employees? I think that the Swift Club did it from club funds. We don't have a lot of excess money in our club. I can contact my friend at Univair if you wish, but I really don't see a future in it.

OK, sports fans - some of you indicated you have contacts in Univair.

1) Find out how much ($) it would take to buy out the Ercoupe component, presuming they'd care to sell.

B} Divide this number by Club / List members or work out a share price in a non-profit incorporation (if this is possible) - or nominally for profit (but really for nil like my flying club).

III] Get us to pony up - my check book is in front of my keyboard.

In other words, there's been talk * talk * talk - would anyone care to take the bull by the horns / dump or get off the pot?? I just read that the Swift folks did it. Evidently it is not impossible........ although, extrapolating from the spar price, "everything has a price" may reveal a number that we couldn't deal with.
