I don’t know about all Coupes. My
hardware had a hook gadget with a lever to tighten it attached to one side –
there was space to slide the plastic-wrapped end of the shoe string through
between the pin holding the hook and the metal window end-piece. On the other
side, there’s the fitting with the slot for the hook to hook into.
It was easy on my plane. YMMV.
