----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----
During the annual last month of my 1946 415C (with a single nose wheel arm) we noticed that the straight valve stem on the nose wheel tube would soon be cut off by the sharp edges of the new wheel nut; so we reversed the wheel nut so the rounded edge would cut less on the nose wheel tube valve stem. Now, I have bought from a major aircraft tube supplier a new 5.00-4 tube which has a valve stem with a 90 degree turn which we though would solve the problem of the wheel nut cutting into the valve stem. But, the valve stem on the new tube comes out of the middle of the tube which we do not think will work with the split wheel (with a bearing in the middle) on my Ercoupe. The supplier advertised this tube as an Ercoupe part. Could anyone who has had this problem please give me some advice. Possibly I purchased the wrong tube.
