Guys - I thought that someone in the Ercoupe group might be able to help this new Coupe owner. He also complains that his Coupe does not climb very well at all - maybe 200 fpm. Could the two issues be connected? Sounds like a very weak engine to me.

We don't use the auto gas, but I'm told by the other partner we could.I'm still new to it, and getting used to how the old girl flies.Kinda scared me a little a few weeks ago. I flew solo from FLV up to Atchison to do a touch and go. I was level at 2300; power was back to a steady cruise; was about 8 miles south of K59.And it felt like I started to get a real noticeable vibration from the engine; could even see and feel it in the yoke. I pushed in full power for a few moments and it went away. Unnerved me a little; I was looking down for a flat spot to put her down. But she kept on going.Don't know what it was. Didn't think it could have been carb ice; engine was at cruise. But our engine and prop seems to vibrate and shake a little anyway; not very smooth. Hard for me to tell if the darned thing has a slight miss or not when it's running . I think we are going to get the prop balanced during the upcoming annual in Feb.----- Original Message -----From: Tandy AllenTo: Ron MaysSent: Sunday, November 12, 2006 10:16 AMSubject: Re: [COUPERS-FLYIN] Winter FlyingI'll give you a call the next time I go flying.Do you use auto gas in your Coupe?
