Hey Dave: I recommend closing off all the openings when you recover. If you
keep the airplane outside, you can put in drain grommets. If you keep it
inside, I would just close all the holes. Granted, when you fly some place the
plane sits outside, but when you compare the amount of time it sits at home to
when it sits elsewhere, it is insignificant.
If you leave the fuselage end of the rear spar area open, close it off
with some aluminum wool, which the mice will not eat.
