If all else fails, Avemco will insure just about anything - for a price.

Randy,

All the other comments were good.

An additional thought: Your Ercoupe will NOT be licensed as an LSA. It'll
just be licensed as an Ercoupe - a certificated aircraft.

As part of your coverage, the insurance company needs to know that you'll be flying as a student, initially as an SP student, and later as a licensed
pilot, specifically as a Sport Pilot.

But the Ercoupe is just licensed as an Ercoupe, not as an LSA.

Because its specs fall within the LSA definition, a Sport Pilot may fly it
but there's no change to the licensing or designation of the Ercoupe.
