Call your county's emergency operation center. They work with and are usually staffed by some Hams and they can steer you. Don't call on their "hot" line please.

Thanks, Ed.  Any suggestions on how to find a friendly, local, "pet" HAM radio operator who likes solving problems in someone else's equipment?
