Some airports do have radio blind spots where the tower can't hear the aircraft
or aircraft can't hear tower. These blind spots are generally known however
and shouldn't be more than a few hundred feet of area. roger

Do I dare to suggest it may be the tower's radio?

Call your county's emergency operation center. They work with and are usually
staffed by some Hams and they can steer you. Don't call on their "hot" line
please.

Thanks, Ed. Any suggestions on how to find a friendly, local, "pet" HAM
radio operator who likes solving problems in someone else's equipment?
