After having followed the rigging procedure to a T, the upward travel of the ailerons does not meet the specified 50 degrees. Also according to our measuring device, the downward travel of the aileron , with the control wheel at 90 degrees only makes around 7 degrees. The 7 11/16" measurement was made from the front of the WING rear spar, to the center of the outboard hole in the bellcrank. My mechanic questioned that maybe we should measure from the carry through spar, which would make only about 1/16" difference. Other than setting the stops on the control column, everything is completed according to procedure. What are we missing that could account for this inability to reach the up 50 degrees. We assume that this is measured from the aileron neutral position. Any suggestions will keep the air from turning BLUE around the hangar.
