Congratulations on fine job...and thanks for the pictures....
 
I'll try to make one similar.  
 
I have been using Continental's advice (old), using a mallet and a bar, and  
a couple of whacks.... But , I do like the 1200 inch pounds (100 ft lbs) as  
stated in ERcoupe manual, compared to the new specs of 200-220 foot  
pounds...Which I think is too tight, and can cause the hubs to crack...
 
BUT, Of course I may be wrong...The cracks can occur from the hub being too  
loose, and from the hub being too tight.  A taper fitting does not take  much 
torque to fit tightly...
 
And "A couple of whacks" may far exceed the upper limit 220 foot  
pounds....and cause the hub to fail...or too loose, allowing vibrations and  
failure.
