My understanding of this is that any additional equipment,   mods.
or other alterations must have an approved maintenance inspection
program, regardless of the authority that is the basis for approval.
I assume that anything on the type certificate data does not apply
and that the aircraft mfg's maintenance procedures are sufficient.
Perhaps replacement "on condition" would be a basis for  approval??
