We're not trying to pre-screen messages. That kind of delay really slows down the flow of information. If a flame war were to get started, we could go to that. Right now, we're trying to just watch the flow of information and provide guidance either on the forum or by private message. In our forum description, the rule is set out as: The tech forum is restricted to Ercoupe/Aircoupe/Mooney M-10 technical information and aviation technique, safety about maintaining and flying Coupes. That's pretty short since there were really tight limitations on the size of the descriptive text. Adjustment of this is open to discussion. Here's an expanded description of what I'd expect would be allowed on tech: Allowed on tech: Any discussion about Ercoupe maintenance, design, history, flying . . . in short, anything that's specifically about Ercoupes. Flying technique and safety that relates to our flying i.e. 747 specific technique doesn't belong here while mountain flying in small planes does. Government regulation that might relate to our flying of Coupes, i.e. TSRs, regs, FAA administrator change, FAA policies, ELT regulation, airport markings, runway incursion rules, traffic patterns, etc. General aviation technology and knowledge that would apply to our flying, i.e. radio antennas, ELTs, microclimates and surface wind behavior at airports, etc. Aircraft accidents/incidents from which we can learn a lesson. Discussion of tech forum management. (It would be hard to get full input from tech members if the discussion were held on flyin.) Obituary notice of Coupers. (Would really be more appropriate to flyin but tech is the only full participation location.) Not allowed on tech Politics. A tight exception is what is happening to flying regulations but partican political commentary about it is not welcome here. Social chat. Favorite movies, cats, etc. Discouraged: "me too" comments or other things that needn't be forwarded to 400+ people. Send these directly to the right person. Not welcome on either tech or flyin Partisan political debate, especially the bashing of politicians Hostile comments, name calling, bashing, etc. As it says in the forum descriptions: Please address facts and ideas and never make negative comments about any person. (Praise is always OK.) Please don't even say that information or ideas or opinions are dumb or stupid or whatever - just give the correct information and your opinion on the issues. If you can, provide references when there are disagreements. We want this to be a positive atmosphere place. We reserve the right to moderate all messages to stay on-topic and eliminate flame-wars. New members will be temporarily moderated to block spam. We treasure our friendly and collegial atmosphere. We encourage the participation of young people you to keep this forum clean, as if for your own grandchildren. Religious bashing or recruiting. Not banning religious statements and not trying to eliminate mention God or religion but this isn't a proper place for missionary work. Bashing anyone's religion is bashing and is not welcome.
