You can close off the hole in the cowl just below the prop spinner using a GOOD 
quality 
duct tape. That will save you from having to order a metal cover which you will 
not need 
downsouth. Besides you will want to take the tape off when you start getting 
into warm air.
If you are worried about water in the fuel there is a product called PRIST, if 
my memory is 
correct, that will absorb the water. Craig in Minn.
