Thanking you! I love a crude but effective solution ("KISS"). Same problem with my sky sneakers, and now a neat solution.

I had problems with my heat control not staying out, and always vibration closed, which constantly changed the heat. I took a short piece of vacum hose, slit it length wise to go over the shank of the control. I pulled the heat control all the way and cut the hose off at the base of the knob and the dash. Now it stays out all the way. I have found my coupe to be much warmer than I suspected it to be.

I want to do my "Ditto" to those who suggest closing off the hole below the prop for the winter. I had a mechanic fabricate a plate and it goes on with 9 screws (nutplates or whatever they are are in the nosebowl to take the screws) - good for at least 10º warmer oil. Goes on when it gets into the forties (and vice-versa).

(I again suggest we add to our sig's our home field and home state... so, Gordon, where are you that you need all that heat? Half the time the seepage from my muffler is enough and I need to insulate or find insulated hose for my "fresh air" as it conducts very warm air in the summer as it passes naked past the engine and all its heat.)
