John; I just finished the great article you submitted in this month's EAA rag, kudos to you!
I don't think that AD compliance needs to be forwarded to OKC, a logbook entry should take care of it. True that Dennis should have been able to find it in the logs and he may with some more searching. The Bonanza I own has a recurring AD on the spar web. Every 500 hours a check with dye penetrant has to be performed. Well, I couldn't find the last check in the logbook so I bit the bullet and did it. Later on, I found that it was completed and signed off, but placed only in the annual inspection report, a document and checklist that was prepared by the previous owner's mechanic! Unfortunately that wasn't good enough for my IA, but since it was already checked, it was water over the dam. Unfortunately, Dennis' IA will probably want to see it in the books and it sounds like it'll need to be done, maybe again. All I can suggest is to look through the entire book again and search though those old papers! Do you have the CD supplied by the FAA? I assume this would have the paperwork if it were done. Now I am trying to prove to myself that it has really been done, can't find it in my log books, and I'm not sure what to look for or where to look. I look below my baggage compartment, in the area of the control mixer, and I think the left side of the spar has been re-inforced but I see nothing on the right side (close to the battery box). Can someone please help me to determine if this AD has been done. Thanks, Dennis (1946 415C, N2738H, #3363).
