Hey Guys and Gals: Does anyone have a step mounted on their Ercoupe or Alon?
I have a gentleman who would like to make his ingress egress easier and
asked for a step.
I got a small square plastic step stool, drilled a hole through it and
attached a cord long enough to reach up into the cockpit. After stepping
onto the wing it can easily be pulled up into the baggage compartment. Upon
landing it can be lowered to aid in stepping down.
One warning---I once placed it too close to the wing trailing edge for my
wife and the step overturned when she stepped on it giving her a nasty
spill.
It worked like a charm. I've since given it to another Couper who likes it.
