Lynn, Randy.

I just had one of my tanks on Johns table for repair. He does an outstanding
job.
But he does only aluminum tanks as I recall.

A terneplate tank or a stainless steel one would need different treatment one
knows.

If your tank is riveted together, you will have to open the tank and clean it
thoroughly , look for holes and put it back together with pro-seal and the
appropriate rivets.
If your tank is welded, one can open the welds with an angle grinder maybe and
clean out corrosion that way.

I never did any of these tasks. I only know from the tales of others; see also:

What I did was replacing rivets on the fitting on the bottom of the tank. The
rivets would just loose the head due to the developing corrosion around the
fitting.
The first one held up for a few years, but then the area around the fitting
started to leak, no matter what.

The overhaul was inevitable.

Hey Randy: I would call John Wright, JR. (217 698-8243 Home or 217 416 1565
Cell) and get his opinion on whether or not they can be repaired. He has the
most experience repairing Ercoupe fuel tanks, and I respect his opinion.
