Unless the rivet hole was misaligned, the ribs should be okay.  A finicky 
mechanic may want the all holes filled with rivets which isn't too bad of an 
idea.

ruined when covered with metal to the extent they'd have to be replaced.

    Hey Jerry: Yes, I have done it. The only extra bit required is changing the 
leading edges back to fabric type.
    Everything else will still have to be done to recover them. Plan on about 
$2000 for materials. If you are doing the work, fine. If you are paying someone 
else to do the work, make certain to get the conversion included and get a 
fixed price for the job.
