I have had success with paint remover. The snotty stuff works, but be careful
as it eats skin as well as paint and if applied excessively might tarnish the
aluminum.

My coupe has a painted on wing walk with some type of non-slip abrasive mixed
in. It has started flaking and I wish to replace it. Any good recommendations
on how to remove the painted compound? My coupe is polished aluminum, so I am
leery of the abrasive here. Also, does anyone have any strong opinions on what
to replace it with? I was looking to put those self-stick sandpaper type wing
walks on. Thanks, Rick N93686 415CLooking for last minute shopping deals?
